Doctoral Prize of the KIT

With their scientific achievements, young scientists make a significant contribution to the success of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Their work reflects the broad spectrum of research topics at KIT. With the KIT Doctoral Prize, the institution honours outstanding doctoral theses that have been evaluated summa cum laude. The award is announced annually and presented during the honorary evening of the President.

14. Promotionspreis des KIT

Der 14. Promotionspreis des KIT des Jahrgangs 2020/2021 geht an

Dr. rer. nat. Jakob Asenbauer ("Conversion/Alloying Anodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries")
Dr. rer. nat. Tobias Frenzel ("On 3D Chiral Mechanical Metamaterials")
Dr.-Ing. Julia Rau ("Mechanismen tribologisch-induzierter Oxidation in hochreinem Kupfer")
Dr.-Ing. Alina Roitberg ("Uncertainty-aware Models for Deep Learning-based Human Activity Recognition and Applications in Intelligent Vehicles")

Mit dieser Auszeichnung würdigt das KIT herausragende Promovierte und unterstreicht damit den hohen Stellenwert des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses am KIT. Die festliche Preisverleihung erfolgt im Rahmen des Ehrenabends des Präsidenten des KIT. Dieser ist aufgrund der aktuellen Situation erst für Juli 2022 geplant. Gestiftet wird der Preis in diesem Jahr erneut von der Schleicher-Stiftung in Kooperation mit der KIT-Stiftung. Das KIT dankt der Schleicher-Stiftung herzlich für das große Engagement.

13. Doktorandenpreis des KIT

Mit dem 13. Doktorandenpreis des Jahrgangs 2019/2020 würdigt das KIT die herausragenden Leistungen von Dr. Jasmin Marie Busch, Dr. Lisa Maria Kohl, Dr. rer. nat. Matthias Künzel sowie Dr. rer. nat. Nicole Ludwig.

Der hohen Stellenwert des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses am KIT wird damit erneut unterstrichen.

Aufgrund der aktuellen Situation wurde die festliche Preisverleihung, die stets im Rahmen des Ehrenabends des Präsidenten des KIT erfolgt, auf das Jahr 2022 verschoben.

Gestiftet wird der Preis auch in diesem Jahr von der Schleicher-Stiftung in Kooperation mit der KIT-Stiftung.

12th Doctoral Prize of the KIT

The 12th KIT Doctoral Prize was awarded on February 6, 2020 during the Honorary Evening of the President. With this award, KIT honors outstanding doctoral candidates and thus wants to underline the high significance of young scientists at KIT. Vice President Prof. Dr. Alexander Wanner honored Dr. Hannah Rothfuß, Dr. Andreas Schlüter, and Dr. Merita Tafili for their outstanding research achievements.

This year, the KIT doctoral prize was funded by the Schleicher Foundation in cooperation with the KIT Foundation. KIT sincerely thanks the Schleicher Foundation for its support.

11th Doctoral Prize of the KIT

During the honorary evening of the President, the 11th KIT Doctoral Prize was awarded on February 21, 2019. This year, the prize was again donated by the Schleicher Foundation in cooperation with the KIT Foundation. With this award, KIT honors outstanding doctoral students and thus wants to emphasize the high value of young scientists at KIT. Vice President Oliver Kraft honored Dr. rer. nat. Alena Kalyakina (Institute for Organic Chemistry), Dipl.-Ing. Frederik Kotz (Institute for Microstructure Technology), and Dr. rer. nat. Tobias Ried (Institute for Analysis) for their outstanding research achievements.
